We monitor wind direction to predict when conditions might allow contraband balloons from Belarus to enter VNO airspace and force a closure.

How does it work?
We calculate the probability that on certain days, specifically in the evenings (from 5 PM), the wind will blow directly from Grodno or Lida towards Vilnius Airport.
If the wind direction favors balloon flight paths, the risk increases. If the wind blows in the opposite direction, we remain safe.
Red color indicates a high probability that these "gifts" could reach our airspace.
Data is updated several times a day.
